Is it really free?
Yes. Your first list is free and needs no account. It runs in your browser, so there is nothing to download. A free account keeps the trip and lets you open it in the Triply app.
Which Google Maps lists work?
Any list you can share by link: lists you made yourself, and Favorites, Want to go and Travel plans. Starred places cannot be shared by Google Maps. Save those places into a new list and share that one.
It says my list is not shared publicly. What now?
The list is private. In Google Maps open the list, tap Share, turn on link sharing so anyone with the link can view, then copy the new link and paste it again.
How many places can a list have?
Google's share link hands over up to 60 places of a list. A trip uses up to 35 of them across at most 7 days, so untick the ones you care about least. For a bigger list, split it by city in Google Maps and paste each one.
Does it work with a single place link?
Yes. Paste the link to one place and it is read the same way. Lists are where it saves the most time.
Do I need to export anything with Google Takeout?
No. The share link carries everything a trip needs. Takeout is only worth it for a full backup of every list you have.
Does Triply change my Google Maps list?
No. It only reads what the share link shows. Nothing in your Google account is touched, and you never sign in to Google here.
